ST PATRICK'S DAY

The last 11th of march we celebrated in my english course St Patrick's day.

This is a  cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland. According to legend, Saint Patrick used the three-leaved shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to Irish pagans.

Is for this, that on St Patrick's Day it is customary to wear shamrocks and/or green clothing or accessories, Maria, my english teacher said we came to class with something green and she gave us shamrocks for decorating our dresses.

 

We did a quiz and we eated an drinked a lot!!! I spent a good time and i learned more vocabulary and we lwaerned something more about Irish culture.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My name is María, and I’m going to talk about the family matters.

In the last years, the traditional family was  composed of father, mother, with or without children, but today, in our society, new models appear, like couples of the same sex, single-parent families, families with divorced parents, etc...

For me, the family is very important, because is the place where the person grows, and learns the values that will shape your personality and the way for understanding and living life.

I belong to a traditional family, I'm married and I have three children. For me, it is difficult to balance family life and work. I'm an architect and I have my own business, so I have to work a lot of hours to make my business go well.

In my family, like others, I think grand-parents play a big role, without them it would be very difficult to work and to have children. For example, for me, without them, it would be impossible to be here now. In many cases they play the role of the parents. That is the reason why I think that as members of our families, we must care for them. Sometimes we forget their age, and that they are in the final stage to enjoy life.

Nowadays, to give a good education to the children, we should spend more time with them, and the reality is that we have a very stressed life and we do not spend enough time with them. I think that this is the main principal reason why today there are a lot of problems with some children, with their studies, their friends, etc.

In conclusion, I think that we must take care of our family, trying to find playful moments to spend quality time with them, like weekends, holidays, or trying to find special days in our lifes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

MY VISION BOARD

My vision board is very simple, because my only wish is to be happy, and I think that with love all the things that could make me happy, are possible.

-       If you do your work with love, I´m sure that your business will go well.

-       If you study English with love, there are more possibilities that you will pass your exam.

-    If you treat the people around you with love, the relationships with friends, husband, parents...will go well. 

-      If you care your children with love, they will learn the most important values of life, and they will be people who will make this world a little better.

-       If you give love and recive love, you will be optimistic with all the problems that you go finding in your life.

To sum up, in my opinion you will be able earn a lot of money, have a big house, travel a lot, .....but if you don´t have love, you don´t have anything.

KING'S RANSOM

When my English teacher said to us that we had to read a book, I looked for one in my home and I found this one, a book that other teacher gave me in an English course, and I still had not been able to read it.

The plot is about a child kidnapped by two small-time crooks. They want to kidnap the King’s son, a rich person who is planning a big and expensive business deal. But they take the wrong boy, the son of King’s chauffeur. The chauffeur hasn’t money to pay the ransom and Mr. King doesn’t want to pay it because if he does it, he will not have money to close the business deal and he will lose his work.

At the end, the wife of one of the crooks, alerts the police and they are able to rescue the boy without paying anything.

This is a good book for whom likes  novels about crimes and mysteries, and show us how there are rich person, who prefer not to lose the position rther than to save the life of other people, in this case, a boy. This kind of situation takes sometimes that these rich people lose their best friends and relatives. How would you have acted if you were Mr. King?  

TRAVELING TO CUBA...

As you'll see I changed the background of my blog. Last year I turned 40 years old and with 4 friends, we celebrate it traveling in December to Cuba!.

We known since primary school and we are years planning this trip. It was a unique experience to remember for a lifetime.

Thank husbands!, because without them this trip would not have been possible. To think that three of the five friends, we have 3 children each!

I encourage you to celebrate all that you can, if you planning it with time, everything is possible!
